Decided to try Lake Stevens again for more Kokanee. This time I went by myself which is much more challenging. Picked up a 2 pole endorsement and was on the water at 7am. Started trolling modified Elgin Fishing God's Tooth spoons (same set up as my last report) with shoepeg corn, 1 rod with Pink top spoon and clown Dick Nite dodger and 2nd rod with 50/50 gold spoon and 50/50 Dick Nite dodger. Dipped corn and spoon in Super Dipping Sauce herring flavor. God blessed with a limit of 10. Had 5 fish in the cooler in an hour. After that, bite seemed to slow and I just kept working at it until limit reached. As you can see from the photos, the fish are 10"-13" and quite fat. Had a double on and managed to bring both fish in then had another double later and lost both. Great weather and quite a few boats out this morning. Talked to another angler who said he caught 7. Fish were in top 10' of water column but did mark fish around 25' also. Wishing all tight lines!

Great report again. It can be challenging running 2 rods solo, but also a lot of fun. Sitting in my Kayak ive had a fish in my lap while I am reeling in another, and also lost both before as well. I did pick up the 50/50 spoon and did your modification. Will try that out this weekend.

Hi JoshH,
I'm glad you enjoyed the report. Looking forward to reading how the God's Tooth set up works for you. I know you can relate, it is very challenging running two rods solo! It's physically tiring too with all the stuff one is constantly doing but it is a lot of fun:)

We're in north county and would like to fish Stevens with someone responsible who has a boat. We have our own gear and can chip in reasonably. We live by the Stilly river. Fish on and tight lines! :)

Hey I was lookin at the second fish to the bottom. It looks like a cutthroat. See the orange in its jaw and the tail. Nice fish regardless!
