My husband & I were on the lake about 11:30 am. It was partly sunny and breezy. It was the first time launching our newly acquired 16' Lund so spent some time getting acquainted with the boat . Found the 30 hp motor worked great. The 32 thrust electric trolling motor on the other hand not so much. We kind of figured it wasn't going to be powerful enough when we bought the boat but wanted to check out how it would do. Definitely planning on getting a new electric trolling motor with more power before next outing. Once we got going I caught a 11" rainbow trolling a gold/red wedding ring tipped with a worm right away. After that it got slow so we just spent time cruising around the lake with lines in tow. Fish finder was marking fish about 10 - 12 feet but I guess they were taking their afternoon siesta. A couple hours later my husband caught a couple of 11" rainbows. Soon afterwards he pulled in a real nice 15" rainbow. All caught trolling a pink/yellow wedding ring tipped with shrimp. Just when fishing started to get good the wind picked up and our little trolling motor couldn't cope. Pulled the lines in and headed back to the launch. While fishing was a little slow we had a great time just hanging out on the lake.
