My second outing of the year was to American Lake 4-11-16. All equipment was in working order. Well except for that annoying oil warning beep. To bad they don’t have recalls for outboards.
The morning was cloudy and cool. Tomorrow there is wind and rain in the forecast but the barometer was steady when I left my house before 6am.
Started fishing at 7am using 2 rods. Not much on the fish finder screen for kokanee. After multiple setup changes I landed a trout at 8:30am. Then an even bigger trout on the other rod with the camera. Rebaited turned around and another slammed my offering and yanked it out of the clip. Lost it after it jumped. I quit about 10am with the two trout on ice.
Then I came home to view the video I recorded while fishing. All of it had both kokanee and trout but the last 18 minutes when I dropped it down to 30 feet. From the first 2 minutes there were multiple kokanee who came calling and got behind the lure and turned away. I didn’t have any scent on the corn with live maggots. But the corn was about 4 weeks old. They did not like it. I have learned!
But they were interested in Dick Nite Dodgers and Wannafish A Lure lures.

We are in a battle! Angler against fish! We need an arsenal of weapons and at my site you will find some of those different weapons. For all those who wannafish a lure come in and take a look at WannafishALure.com.

Congratulations Toni and the video is way fun. Where do you mount the camera? Is it on the line or DR cable? My camera housing tracks well and provides a very stable image but I haven't messed with it at all lately. On the list...

The camera is in line. It is a water wolf. Made to put inline. Only way to edit is through VLC media player so I have to make all the clips MP4 files so I can put them together in Windows movie maker. Took several hours

Very interesting. I have watched wlot of these and the one thing I noticed was that they really stayed away. Only a few came in for a closer look. I agree that the sent was probably turning them back.

Oh man, based on a renewed intrest in underwater photography I went to my shop in the basement to grab my prototype DR cable mount camera housing and it is laying on the floor in pieces. Dam cats..., although it may not be the cats, looks like somebody was standing on it to get something. I guess I have to head back to Habitat for Humanity or Skagit Salvage to get another hunk of 6" plastic pipe...
