Got to the lake around 5:00ish and headed to the peninsula. I rigged up the trout pole with a 18' leader and yellow power bait eggs and on the other pole I used a spinner. No luck for the first hour but after working the spinner I managed to bring a 12' trout in. Since I was using an ultra light set up the fish felt big! As I pulled him up I heard a "pop" and the hook came out and the fish flopped back into the water. Continued throwing the spinner and letting the power bait sit. Wanting to call it a day, I started to reel in my other rod and got a take! Reeled in a 13' rainbow and took him home. Overall it was a decent day. Two other guys on the other beach didn't catch anything, I guess I was the lucky one today.
