Well I thought I would give Moses Lake a shot at walleye fishing but came up empty handed. We were fishing Gaileys Island in 12-26 FOW trolling spinner harness and slow death set ups at slow speeds and we did manage to get a hard take down on one rod that may have been a smallmouth since it felt like a train when reeling it in before losing the fish, never got to see it. We only saw one other boat that happened to catch a smallmouth, but didn’t see any walleye taken. Maybe a little early for Moses I don’t know. Still it was nice to be on the water, we are going to Potholes next week.

I did get to try out my new Minn Kota Ulterra and Humminbird Helix 10 HD fish finder, this makes fishing so much nicer when the boat and GPS talk to each other and the boat drives by itself.

I see us saw water temps 46-50. Was the 50 degree temps in the main lake or up the horns? I'm a bass guy, just wondering how temps were changing. Warmer water come from afternoon Sun? Thx for any insight.

Hammerinhonkers- the water near Gaileys island on the south end of the lake is where I was fishing and the 48 degree water. There were about 6 bass boats in the area in the shallow rock piles on the east side of the island near the small light house if you are familiar with the Moses Lake area. I could hear a couple yells as the bass fisherman caught their fish. As for the afternoon sun, I don't know if the water temp rises or not. It as cloudy a little windy when we were fishing. Hope this helps.

Damn, was thinking about heading over there tomorrow. Was thinking of Scootney or Potholes. Gotta be able to find somewhere that's holding fish. Lost a pig down below McNary a few weeks ago but that was the only take down we had. Always fun when they hit that jig tho. Good luck and tight lines everyone
