Got to the boat launch as a heavy rain started to come down. waited for a break in the weather to launch the boat. As I did, a small craft was coming in. Ask how it went, they had given up after being out in the rain for 30 minutes. They were trolling without a single hit. Thought that was odd considering the number of planted fish the just put in. As small talk commenced, we could see wakes but the dock. One of the occupants of the boat was planning to stay, so I offered a seat on my rig. Brandon, as I later learned his name, accepted the invite. We trolled the perimeter of the lake, no hits on the offerings. Dick Nites, rooster tails... wedding rings... As we approached the launch area, we watched another fisherman with his fly rod in a drift boat hook up and land a few fish. We anchored off a little from him, tossing some pb and crawlers on floats as we watched on. He offered some of the action, and pitched some lures. As the sun peaked from the clouds, anything metallic in finish was getting hits. We managed to hook a few. Mine off a chrome wyld edge lure, his off a chrome/white rooster tail and a #1 gold blue fox. these planters sure were picky and hung around the area stocked... Sorry WDFW, I would like to waive the BS flag... there is no way you dropped off over 3k half pounders on the 1st and 2nd, and the lake this dead
I was at the dock by the launch in the sun on Saturday nailing em on a size 0 mepps spinner. Only spinners and spoons were triggering strikes. I saw nothing caught on bait on that side that day. The only one I saw caught at the park was on bait.
Richierich... Lol, I only went to Texas for work. Honestly, I think the fishing is better here than Texas. The lakes in the area I was in were too far and few.
They are changing I think last year when we were able to change a rule on fish and wildlife I asked to have limit increased to 5 so they wrote me back that they were going to change it to 2 big ones two regular stockers I was sick of everyone throwing back little fish so they could catch all big ones and killing fish
RL44, I am aware of the three fish limit. however, you are incorrect in your statement. The statewide rules still apply for trout, the only difference is the limit. I called Mill Creek to verify this. "When fishing with bait (or an attractant added), all trout equal to or greater than the minimum size are counted as part of the daily limit whether kept or released." Yes, we hooked into a few, only landed a couple each, Richierich could attest to that. All but one was released.
I think it's changing in new rules or 2017 that's what fish and wildlife emailed me
