Sunday morning I headed out to Lacamas Lake looking for Bows and Browns. Upon arrival I noticed the water was very murky and had a strong current with all the recent rainfall. I fished the channel where Lacamas enters Round Lake and ended up catching one small Brown Trout on a rainbow trout rapala.

However, the reason for this report. I wanted some insight trout fishing during this time of the year as it always seems to be extremely slow.

Has anyone had success in local lakes?
-Battleground
-Lacamas
-Klineline
-Horseshoe
-Kress
-Small lakes along hwy 14

I know the murky conditions, cold water temps, low insect activity, and lack of planting this time of the year causes issues. What has been working for you guys?

Thanks!

Dylan - I don't know those lakes but I do know olive bunny leach flies with red head hackle work well over here. I troll them on three colors of leaded line with 50 to 60 feet of leader. Always bait with worms or Berkley Gulp Red Wiggler, use a stinger hook and troll fast, like 2 to 3 mph. Hope that helps. Also love 50/50 Dick Nites trolled on the same rig 1.5 to 2 mph just so they don't tumble. Tie all of the above directly on the leader, no snaps or swivels.
