I took the pontoon down to Munn Lake after seeing the stocking reports stating a plant of some good size cutthroats. I tried the fly rod for a while without any takers and then spent the rest of the day switching between various spinner patterns on my spinning rod. Fishing was slow with no bites until close to 3pm when I moved back closer to the launch and started getting hits consistently on a size 1 bronze Mepps spinner. Landed a big cutthroat that didn't put up much of a fight and then a few casts later had a huge hit, with line peeling off and around my pontoon. The fish ended up being a huge holdover rainbow with lots of spunk. Continued casting in the area around where I was anchored and soon had two more cutthroat to the net. It turned into a great day and always a bonus being able to find trout in February.
