So I went out with a good friend who I have been blessed to have met last year ptfletcher. We went out around 2 pm. We went out by the south end of mercer island. We trolled dodger with wedding ring. And then sling blade with hoochie but had no bites. Tried fishing anywhere from 20ft all the way down to 80ft. We finished around 4 30. Marked so many bait balls of perch maybe? Or other little fish. Also marked some fish which might of been cutthroat but had no luck. It was a beautiful day to be out on the water which is why I gave it a 2 star. Hope fishing gets better. Tight lines.

Mike10gs and I met on this site. We have become friends and fish together as life allows. We did mark lots of bait fish balls between Mercer Island and the mouth of the Cedar River. Having watched Gman's video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upUt01wnEzY), I think the bait fish were long fin smelt or stickleback. We didn't try still fishing form them to see if they were perch. We marked bigger, solo fish up along the west side the the south end of Mercer Island. Next time. This trip was mostly a shakedown cruise to make sure everything was running right. Thanks for coming along, Mike10gs!

The smelt are staging in the south end of the lake for their pawning run up the Cedar river. I've tried jigging for them, without any luck. Some day I'll pick one up and I'll post pics.

Hey just missed you guys~ you were putting in just as I was taking out at Altantic City~ as it was my first time out too for the season just to make sure everything was running correctly! Saw the same bait balls on my sonar but ended up with the same result! Post my report shortly! Hope to see you out there someday!
