Had a late start this morning, but what a beautiful day. Started fishing about 10:00 am. One other boat trolling around with us. We threw everything we had at them. Pinks, greens, oranges, combos, etc - hoochies, spoons, bugs, home-made masterpieces - shallow, mid and deep (down to 30' on the wire) - fire corn, berkley maggots, scents galore - And about 8 different dodgers. Surface temp was about 45 degrees, and we stayed between 1.3 and 1.6 mph.
We had a good smack down, on a silver spoon, but it didn't stick, that was it. We didn't see anything caught. It looked like the other guy was running a fly on top, and then a second rod on a rigger. Clearly, Meridian is reluctant to relinquish any of its inhabitants yet.
I would normally have given this a rating of 1, but with good conversation and spectacular weather, it was just too good, and any day spent fishing instead of working can't be a 1.
