Got on the lake around 0800. It was COLD, the lake has about an 1/8" ice on it, with open water in some places. Very slow bite. We left at 2:30 pm and ended up with 22 fish total between two of us with 2 pole endorsements. A couple other boats on the lake. Fishing from shore or bridge is not an option. The shore has ice that goes out about 15 - 20 yards. Lake water temp. was 34 dgrees. The boat launch was brutal.

tricities-sean,
Thanks for the report. I'm currently in AZ.\,but heading home Tuesday and was wondering what shape Moses was in. I generally launch at Blue Heron and when the docks are out it can be a "brutal" launch area. Any size to the perch? Have you tried jigging with a Swedish pimple? I had good luck last Fall-Winter with one in that area of the lake.
Well have a Merry Christmas and stay warm while enjoying the perch.

The perch were jumbo sized, fat 12-14" is the size we kept.
We through back anything smaller (about 5 or so). We did try the pimple, but didn't have any luck with it. That launch was scary, extremely slick and icy. The lake should be covered in 1/2" of ice now - if the weather stays cold. Merry Christmas to you amd safe travels.

Nice catch! I'm in tri-cities and hoping and waiting for safe ice to head up there.... If possible can you give me a report on the ice conditions there? Thanks and have a happy new year!

I don't have a clue how the ice is. I haven't been back up there since the trip on the 22nd. I would assume it is frozen over, but not a clue how thick it is. I would be surprised if it is thick enough to fish on safely........
