The Packernut and I decided to take one more shot at the pike for 2015. We got a great day of weather, mid 30's and no wind. Water temp at the first spot was 40 degrees.
I started the day by putting the biggest fish of the day in the boat, ten minutes after our first cast. It was a nice fat 7 pounder that took a liking to a new glide bait I got in the mail last week. We put 4 fish in the boat in the first 45 minutes, then got blanked the rest of the day.
I wasn't expecting big numbers so 2 fish each was a good day for this late in the season. This trip caps of a great year of pike fishing for both of us, where we both got our new personal best pike and I finished the year with 269 pike total. By far the most I have put in the boat in a single season since I have been counting.
Mike, thanks for coming along and sticking out a few very cold days of fishing. It was a good end to a great season. I'm already counting the days till warm water spring fishing.
Hopefully My Raiders can top your Packers tomorrow and make for a great weekend. :)
