Got up early at 4am and dragged my son up. Drove the 2+ hours from Camano to pick up my Cousin and headed to St Clair.
First time there and at sun up it was so nice. Leafs floating on the calm water, sun coming up, Ten people on the shore fishing already. LOL
Started with normal trout towing gear and we caught quite a few, landed very few. Came home with 4, lost 7 at the boat. Dull hooks or stone mouths or lack of hook setting with gusto, Still had a great day. Rain came in waves but for the most part just drizzle and the Bimini kept us dryish with our rain gear on.
Back to the shore anglers. They were Cleaning up with gulp/marshmallow types and worms on the bottom. While we launched, bathroom break and recovery watched them catch over and over. If your there, hit it up before the fish scatter.
These rainbows are not the chunky types the stockers are usually are. Wonder if they are the steel head fish that were suppose to be in the rivers?
