Took my son and 2 buddies -- all 10 -- out for a mid-morning perch run. From others I'd heard 55' (ish) was the depth, and working that line produced fish each time we found a school. When we'd lose contact, just kept trucking north until we found more. Started at Carrilon, ended almost at Waverly with more perch than I really wanted to fillet. Next time, we'll enforce more rigorous "release the small ones" rules.

Once we caught our first of the day, we switched to simple baithook rigs with perch meat. I kept the boat running, hooks baited, and whacked fish... the boys did all the fishin!
