On the water by 0945 after dropping the kids off at school. Trolled a pink splatter Dick Nite dodger with a pink glitter hoochie with a pink Shaker Wing attached. Shrimp and Anise flavored Shoepeg corn was used as bait. Wife caught a fat 14" Kokanee NE of Silcox. Depth was 23ft on the wire, speeds 1.1 - 1.3 depending on the wind. Kokanee were holding between 22-31 ft that morning.
I hooked a fiesty 15" Rainbow W of Silcox. I was trolling a Rocky Mountain Tackle pink plankton. I used no weight, riggers or attractors, just the lure about 200 ft back. The rainbows are back feeding aggressively on the surface now that things have cooled down some.
We only had two take downs the short time we were out on the water and landed two fish. I have only lost 1 Kokanee out of 20 or so (real number not fisherman number) this summer. I switched all of my hoochies and wedding rings over to size 1 sickle hooks snelled with a stinger. A bit large, I know, but they are working great so far. I lost more fish on the smaller hooks snelled the same way.
Thanks to all that share on this website. I appreciate it!
