Needed an attitude adjustment so hit Potholes for some walleye on Saturday. Started out at about 9:30 dragging Flicker Shad and Shad Raps. Picked up the first one on a red crawdad Flicker Shad, about 17". Next one was a largemouth on a perch Shad Rap, only about a pound or so. Continued trolling the humps in front of the dunes, picking up fish here and there, never really established a pattern. Picked up a couple walleye and a catfish on a smile blade/slow death rig. Biggest walleye came on a beetle spin rigged with a 2" salt-n-peppa grub trying to catch crappie, 23" fish.

Ended the day landing 12 walleye, 2 largemouth, and one catfish. Kept 3 walleye from 19-23", plenty for me to eat. I saw an earlier report that stated the mosquitoes were rather thick at the boat launch when he returned from fishing. They were out in droves! I must have donated a pint of blood trying to get everything tied down to go home. Had a nice dinner of walleye, garlic shrimp, and fried spaghetti for dinner that night, yummy!

On Saturday we were off the water by 1530 and didn't see, much less get bit by, any skeeters at the state launch

Wish I would have launched there, I put in at the launch by the Potholes Canal outlet.
