Wanted to try Kirkland area one more time since I live by the lake. I heard reports of fish last week. Got there around 8:00 am. Saw only two boats. As I was going around Hunts point I saw one jumper, but continued to Moss bay. fished around between both places all morning. Caught a couple cuttroughts but no silvers. Only saw one more jumper the whole morning. I would say the fishery is a bust. I went two weeks ago and saw many more jumpers. There are a lot of cuts in the lake and I will target them next time but stay at the south end Of Mercer Island and I90 bridge.

I would give up on coho, but there is a great trout fishery in the fall and winter. G-man is the expert so look at his posts. I firmly believe that trout, perch, pike, and other predatory fish are eating the sockeye smolts for dinner. I have found smolts in 4 out f every 5 trout I catch. I have written the game department about this several times and have even volunteered to freeze the contents of the fish I catch as proof. What are they releasing a million plus smolt every year for the last 5-10 years? They need to keep the smolts until they are larger so they wo'nt get eaten as much. Also put a bounty on certain predatory fish. Then we need to go out and catch them. By the way I use worms and then perch parts for perch.
