Sunshine, bluebird skies, and warm temps had the pike hiding out yesterday. I released 2 nice pike. One at 28" and one 36" 11-1/2 pounder. I lost 6 more on the day. One of those appeared to be about 10lbs and she sheared off an 80lb flouro leader about 15 feet from the boat. I watched her swim away with my spinnerbait hanging out of her mouth. Also landed a nice large mouth and lost a pig smallie right beside the boat. I guessed her at 5lbs. water temps were 63-67 degrees and the fish hit spinnerbaits in 10 feet of water. Pleasure boaters had ther way with the lake yesterday, turining Cda into a giant toilet bowl. Man those big boats can sure stir up the chop. Upcomming cooler temps should get the fish going better any time now and will help reduce the boat traffic. Looks like it will be a good fall season again this year!!
