This is a report for four days on Lake Wenatchee (8/2, 8-7-8/9). Fished solo for four days last week while on a trip over to the east side. What a gorgeous lake and fishery. Had decent luck 3 of the days with 3, 2, and 2, fish respectively. Then the obligatory skunk on Sunday morning when i had to make it a quick trip.

Weather and fish were gorgeous for the most part. Missed the winds everyone talked about earlier in the week, then they made an appearance on Sunday the 9th. Windy all morning, makes it tough on the solo fisherman, navigating and managing two downriggers in the wind and chop.

This is a great fishery, it's tough to beat catching salmon in a mountain lake in as beautiful a setting as Lake Wenatchee. No complaints at all. The launch line was manageable, the other boats were courteous, and the fish tasted great.

This was my first year fishing here, i have fished Baker before and these fish are a little different. Much deeper (~80') and not as feisty at the surface with little to no jumping. The two on Saturday had a some runs in them, but other than that once they got to the top they just gave up.

I was using double pink hooks with some red beads and a smile blade behind a chrome herring dodger with about 12 inches of leader. The other winner was a single pink hook with a really small white/pink UV hootchie. All fish were caught between 75 and 85', and all within an hour of each other. Lost another 5.
