Despite getting 25 fish days at Potholes the last 3 weeks the recent reports had us headed to Banks this AM. Winds were forecast to be 5 MPH but whitecaps greeted us. We launched at Coulee City and immediately found fish along the west wall in 20-35 FOW. After multiple fish all being 12-14 inches we headed to the East flats and found slightly larger (14-17 inch) fish in 20-25 FOW. Slow death hooks, green/chartreuse beads and smiley blades silver/gold/green behind bottom bouncers with 1/2 of a jumbo crawler is what we offered. I think anything or color would have worked. It easily was 50+ fish this morning for the 3 of us. Worked the drop off of a submerged island on the way in and caught a nice 25 incher. The wind died late in the morning making it another great day with friends on the water.
