Got to the lake about 4:00 PM, on a very hot day. A few swimmers and noise makers but not too bad. The frustrating part was that we forgot our anchor and the wind kicked up and was blowing us down the lake. With just an electric motor, coming back up the lake we had to have it on high to move well, which really burns up your batteries.
Tried trolling with dodger/worm, dodger/wedding ring (with worm and/or power bait) and still fishing with worms and power bait. However without our anchor, our still fishing was more like trolling, lol. Not a single bite for trout, I think this weather is just really hurting a lot.
I don't have a fish finder, so I can't tell you what the water temperature was, but I am sure it was hot for this time of your, I believe the waters (in most lakes) are gonna have to cool down.
We tried for bass as well, but the wind was frustrating us again as it was hard to stay put while getting pushed all over the place. Caught one small bass and a few hits.
Overall, we fished, and we sweat profusely, and caught squat ... but still better than working.
