Got to the ramp at 6am and only figured to fish for a few hours till the knuckleheads and the sun became too much. Was fishing shoreline around docks and weed edges. Caught about 30 small perch, they were constantly nipping at the bait but I kept reeling through the nipping and got rewarded with a 2lb smallie and a 3-1/2lb LMB. Gave the outing a 4 because it was constant action with the perch and some of them were decent size, and the 2 bass fought like a truck.
Off the water around 9:30

Thanks for the great report. It's nice to see something mentioned other than Kokanee. What a treat to catch a Large and a Smallmouth on one trip. I hope they are still swimming in the lake so I can catch them. Could you please tell us what you were using and how deep they were usually biting. Thanks.

Thanks Geno. Both were released. Caught both on a craw pattern crankbait down 6-8 feet. Pretty close to shore. There are some nice smallies in here and have had mediocre results the handful of times I have fished it. Don't think the bass are targeted here too much, not like the Kokes.

Gotta give a plug to BigBassDez for the tip on reeling through the perch bites from a video he did on Stevens a while back...
