First time out on Tapps this season. Fished 3-6 PM. Caught 3 SMB - two 6-inchers and one 17-inch (pictured). The water is pretty milky. All fish caught in 10-15 feet. The big SMB was off the shore in open water and at the same spot had a good strike but my line was cut immediately. Tiger Muskie maybe? Anyway, good to finally get out on this lake and get some return on the 2015 season launch pass I bought in February.

Hey Kevin..
wondering if your using cranks for the smallies? If so have you thought about using a leader to avoid the bite-offs? In my experiences out there the leaders do not stop the smallies from whacking you..See ya, Todd

I was using a drop shot at the time. Felt the rod load up but the line, only 8# test, was cut when I pulled the rod up to set the hook. I plan on trying some cranks and jerks this weekend. This trip was my first to Tapps this season, so was just doing drop shot and motoring around with the short time I had that day.
