I was on the water by 545 am. Using my 4 person inflatable. Still beautiful water. I saw fish surfacing. I trolled( by rowing) a kokanee weeding ring and worms on the other line. I had tons of bits but no hook ups until around 630 am. I had one small fish on the wedding ring but I let it go. 6:30 am on they slammed my line. I was using a lighter poll so it was way fun. I had several in the 13.5 range and the rest a bit small. All in all this lake has fun fishing and healthier looking fish compared ot others. I saw one fellow about the time I was leaving. 8am already limited. He was struggling a lot of get his craft out. This lake is so so low that really unless you have a smaller size boat you have little chance of getting out or only can if one of you is in the boat. I have to distribute my weight to get out at all. Seen many a person struggle a ton to get out on the water. Just wish I could go more often. I caught 3 of those steelie colored trout.. pink fleshed. beauties. Not Kokanee as there are too many spots on the fins and a hit of color on the side. We cooked em up for dinner and boy did they taste good.

Your steelie colored trout are Kokanee. I caught one last week there.

I am not convinced they are Kokanee due to abudant spots.. in my photo you cannot really see them. This lake was stocked with these. "WDFW has a higher number of fish to stock into lakes this fall because of a legal settlement last spring that prevented releasing early winter hatchery steelhead into most Puget Sound rivers in 2014.More than 300,000 of those steelhead, an ocean going form of rainbow trout, will instead be released into western Washington lakes in the coming weeks.
"We realized these fish presented a unique opportunity for Washington's anglers," said Donley. The department held the steelhead over the summer and reared them to "catchable trout size" to be released into lakes in the Puget Sound area for harvest this fall.
Donley said he expects angling to be great throughout the fall and winter months at all of these lakes. "Most of the trout are 11 to 13 inches long, with a few larger ones in the mix," he said."(from WFDW) .
I have also caught these same.. very trout like but lacking much rainbow coloring at lake Tye, Green lake and seen them present at Rattlesnake lake. All tend to have spots mostly on upper half of the body tail and fins. Their sides taking on a silver look and they bottom fins being light in color almost white.

Not Kokanee. They are the steelhead smolts that were planted last fall. They were real jumpers earlier in the year as you might expect of a steelhead.

Yeah steelhead.. hence why I posted the info from t the website. 80% of people I meet at that lake do not believe me. Some of those smolts could get mighty big. I hear the green lake ones are giant now.
