First trip of the year to Tapps. Had low expectation after hearing other reports about water clarity. We did better than expected but had to work at it. Caught about a dozen smallies today. Had to find the clearest water we could. Once we started fishing the clearest water we could find we starter catching them. Two fish were caught in the milky water and they were quite pale also caught a crappie that I call the ghost crappie came out of the Milky water and had no color at all. After releasing it I thought I should have taken a photo of that. Oh well. Fish in clearer water seem to be getting their color back. Biggest was 3 lb. couple more in the 1-1.5 range the rest were dinks so it seems many small ones survived the drawdown. Figured with limited visibility fish would be tight to cover which was mostly true.
