I wanted to get in a fishing trip this week in spite of the heat, so I left bright and early and got to Rimrock at 6:00. The boat launch was deserted as I eagerly put the canoe in. I noticed the water was warm as I launched the boat and for a while I could feel heat rising off the water- very unusual for Rimrock which is usually always cold. It felt like 85 to me but my thermometer said 72. Anyways, I trolled near shore, across the lake, down the other shore and back without even a bite. A month ago I saw fishing rising in the morning here, but today there was not a hint of a fish. I tried a spoon, power bait, even a rubber worm behind a little flasher but the fish weren't there. They're probably sitting out the heat on the bottom of the lake.
