Started out in the main lake on Saturday at about 7am. Hooked the first fish at 8 and lost him. Looked like the fish had played the game before. I watched him hit a spinnerbait and the second I set the hook and spun him around, he mad a right turn directly for those stringy weeds and was off the hook. Stayed in the main lake for 3 1/2 more hours with only a 2 1/2lb largie for my efforts. Moved into the chains to find water temps at 83-84 degrees. The day was a scorcher and after moving to another of the chains, we took a swim and went back to fishing. After about 10 minutes I boated 2 fish on 2 casts. Finished the day with 11 pike and 1 largemouth. Hot days and warm water makes for tough fishing and usually menas small fish. They're still fun to catch though. Largest was 26" for the day. Main lake water temps were up to 764 degrees. Fish were hitting spinnerbaits. Nothing photo worthy.
