Went down to the lake and fished from shore from 6:30-9PM with 2 pink power eggs on a small hook. Managed to catch two trout, not very big but good enough to make a meal out of. Saw another guy who had been there for a while with 6 fish maybe. Nice way to spend a sunday afternoon. Looks like the fish they stocked are biting, though they're not exactly monsters!

Sadly kenhslung you and the other angler neglected to read the fishing regulations for the Green River, the limit is two with a minimum size limit of 14". The regulations are in place to protect steelhead smolts which may have been what you harvested…READ THE FISHING REGS PRIOR TO GOING FISHING….THEY'RE FREE!!!

SORRY…Please delete above; for some reason in a river mode; although the lake limit is 5.

I think those comments shouldnt be removed. Take it as a lesson to observe and be sure you know what you are saying before you slam a guy for not knowing the rules, perhaps instead of him needing to read the regs before he fishes, it is you who should read the report and observe the obvious non steelhead pics before you slam people. It is a lake report indicated in blue, and he did mention the stocked trout in the report...

Hahaha, this comment thread was fun to read. I'd be pretty shocked to see a 14" trout in green lake.

there are a lot of big fish in the lake , the steelheads are averaging 18 to 22 inches, the hold over triploids are 18 inches plus . I saw a 22 1/2 inch 5lbs and some change bow get caught 3 weeks ago

Wow that's pretty crazy, I've never seen anything bigger than maybe 13-14" caught out of there. Biggest I've caught was maybe a pound and a half, though I've only been a few times. Guess I'll have try it more often and see if I can get one of those big ones. Thanks for the knowledge!

A trout of a "pound and a half" typically measures 15 1/2"-17" deppending on how fat it is. A 13"-14" trout is typically about 3/4lb-1lb again deppending on girth.

There are big triploids in this lake. It is a 5 fish limit so that 6 fish person worries me. Also there are steelhead in there but they are not sea run. They are part of the batch that was put in there last fall when the hatchery was not allowed to plant them in the river. I called up the fishery number for fish and game. As I kept catching these fish that looked different from the rainbow. Turns out they are indeed young steelhead genetically. Means that in Geen Lake you can catch steelhead and it since they are landlocked count as daily trout limit according to the lady at fish and game. A ton of lakes got planted with them so the ones if that survive and thrive could get pretty big. The average size I have caught are 13-14 inch recently. I have my go to lake but it does not have shore access

my measuring devices are my eyes and my hand, so not very precise.

the guy who caught 6 was fishing with his girlfriend, and I just estimated he had 6, so don't worry about anyone taking the extra fish y'all!
