It wasn't super hot fishing for me this morning, but i did get a few. I wanted to get an early start to beat the heat, but slept late and started fishing about 630. Picked up 3 fish in the first hour, then trolled around a while and couldn't seem to get back into them. Decided i would try up by the yacht club, so i motored up above the yacht club and turned around so the breeze was at my back. Got my rods fishing in 150 FOW and no sooner than i could pour my last cup of coffee my deep rod goes off (~100') when i feel the fish, i can tell it had shoulders, a nice kokanee or big laker, maybe a chinook?!? when the fish gets about 20' from the boat, he decides to go for a run, and strips some line off the reel, after a nice fight, and a bit of struggle at the net, a nice chinook in the boat. I fished around headed east for a about another hour, marking a few fish, but not getting them to bite. All my fish today came from on the same rod, same rig and same depth, fiddled my 2nd rod trying a few different things, bug couldn't get them to take anything else. Good day overall, finished with some great meat for the grill.
