I had the day off yesterday and met a friend of mine at lake Meridian at 6:00am. I was excited to get on the lake as she had never been fishing for kokanee and I wanted to get her hooked up. We started trolling at the south end of the lake heading north. The action was slower then it was a couple weeks ago that is for sure, It took us an hour and thirty minutes before we had our first fish on. It came on a blue tape sling blade with a pink hoochie at 25ft. We caught our next fish on a pink sparkle (nerka nailer) kokanee bug at 25 feet. We caught one more on the hoochie and all the rest came on the kokanee bug. We fished three rods two at 25 feet and one at 30 feet. All the fish came at 25 feet. We hooked 10 fish and 7 made it in the box. We fished till about 1 in the afternoon and decided to call it a day. It was a beautiful day on the water and I was able to put my friend on her first kokanee. Oh, one other thing most of the fish were caught in the section of the lake that was even with the brown dome octagon house if anyone is headed out there this weekend that would be the area to start. Tight lines!
