I met Mike Carey at the launch just before 6am. I was hoping that he would be able to video underwater kokanee while still fishing. We will find out at a later date.
At this time, what I can say is that filming fishing/catching consumes a lot of the time one could spend fishing. How we love to see people catching fish on film, but not in the boat next to us as Mike and I did today.
We caught a few. While this chumming and still fishing looks easy it isn’t. Mike got 1 in the boat I got 2 kokanee and a large trout. Maybe a triploid? I have never caught one before. I cleaned it and it seemed to be neither female nor male. But I am normally only cleaning kokanee. Could it be a hold over? It was 16.5 inches and had orange meat.
I caught mine on a glow hook I make and Mike ( who caught the biggest kokanee) was using the Wannafish A Lure Mini Still-fishing spinner. Eggs and maggots were bait.
I anchored on the south side of the lake in 45 foot of water. We quit about 10:30am. It was mostly sunny with a slight breeze. Water temperature was 72.9. This is the coolest day for what is predicted a long dry stretch of 80’s and 90’s. I don’t know what it may do to lake fishing.

We are in a battle! Angler against fish! We need an arsenal of weapons and at my site you will find some of those different weapons. For all those who wannafish a lure come in and take a look at WannafishALure.com.

Great job, looks very tasty!! I know what you mean about filming sometime it turns into a hassle but the end result is worth it.

Hi Toni, glad to see you got Mike out to further his kokanee training (frustration, sneaky little buggers). Thanks for sharing - Alan

it does not look like a trip to me. nor a hold over, as its fins are still worn. just a fattie they dumped in. good looking meat, tho. nothing like a few bugs, to give them proper nutrition! will go out in the am, trolling. been a while. see if i can beat my high of two 14.25", this time.

A triploid, stubby tail!

I think it was a Triploid. It tasted so good it rivaled the kokanee.
