Finished up with work a little early, decided to hit the home lake for a bit of evening kokanee fishing. Got on the water at about 5PM, picked up a fish on the way up to the north end of the lake.... then nothing for about 45 mins... then all of the sudden, bite turns on!
Picked up 4 fish in about 35 mins. Lost 1. Fish are very aggressive on the takedown... it was super fun. Big assist to DJ. Used his recon to have a good fishing evening. Lost my favorite wedding ring and dodger, thanks to the mystery structure that gobbles up tackle. Right in the middle of the lake, in about 55ft of water... I've lost gear there at 20-35 ft. I have no idea what is there. Someone with some scuba gear can pick up a ton of tackle there...
Had one hell of a takedown on the downrigger drop that was cool as heck too, unfortunately, that made me knock over my tacklebox, and I lost 3 more dodgers to the lake... SMH. I will savor that koke...
Quick note: the Kershaw 9" filet knife is the best fillet knife I've used. At under $15 this knife is a steal. Knife holds its edge well. Sharp knife equals excellent fillets.
