We had some business to do in Moses lake Tuesday so we thought what the heck lets try for a mid day walleye. We got on the water at about 10:30 and it was already pretty hot. It wasn't long before Evie put a nice fat perch in the boat. I thought I would try trolling crankbaits this is a different method for us, Evie stuck with slow death with a smiley blade. About an hour later she caught another perch and I kept changing crankbaits. After about fours hours with out a bite I put the crankbaits away. We had been marking tons of fish all day that were suspended about 5-6 feet deep in 12-14 foot of water. My thinking was they had to be perch and it was time to show my wife how to catch them so I put on a green wedding ring and a small chunk of worm, after about 10 minutes my pole bowed like I was hung up, turned out to be a nice healthy 23 inch walleye. As soon as I got him in the boat Evie got her third perch. My perch lesson didn't turn out as planned but I was happy with with my walleye.
