My friend and I decided to take an exploration trip up to Horseshoe as I had fished the creek above the waterfall long ago as a kid. The hike is really difficult without a good trail and the fishing was really marginal above as there is a lot of foliage and we could only find sunfish to be caught. Did catch one really small eastern brook and let it go. After we were done we worked our way back to the east end of the lake up by the boat launch for some trout fishing. The weather was really windy but the fishing was good in about 25 feet of water. Used power bait tipped with worms off the bottom and had no problem catching our limit of planters. Most around 10 to 12". Not bad and nice lazy day fishing. The lake is nice and quiet. Mostly kayak and paddle boards because of the 5 mile per hour speed limit on the lake. The nice thing is there is good fishing to be had right close to the boat launch.
