Had to meet my wife today at 10am in Smokey Point so I decided to hit Gissberg this morning. Lines were in the water about 5:15. Started off with 1 rigged with 3 foot leader and the other with 4 foot. Chartreuse power eggs on the 4 foot and rainbow on the other. Nothing. Changed leader lengths and egg colors and tried various combinations between 2 foot leader and 5 foot. Still nothing. Switched one pole to 3 1/2 with chartreuse, which I have had the most success with here in the past, and started to cast and retrieve with the other. Tried a F4 frog pattern flatfish, needlefish, and a frog pattern roostertail, changing weights from 1/4 up to 3/4 ounce. By 10am and my time to leave I felt like I had done everything I could to find out what might work. Nothing I could come up with did. I didn't see a single fish get caught during my time there. Had hopes for better, but anytime spent fishing is better than time spent not.
