Had a nice day on the water despite strong winds which brought us in early and kept us from eastern end of lake. Weather report was for calm winds becoming 5 to 9 m.p.h. Ha! We went out early to take advantage of that and got burned, but managed to tough it out in the other end of the lake. I caught my personal best for cutthroat trout at this lake today with a 16 and 5/8 inch fish. The native cuts don't get much bigger then 13 or 14 inches so this would have taken 1st place in last 3 or 4 derbys at this lake, but no derby this year.
We saw danutdlp at the lake camping with family, he and a friend had a couple of dollies.Good to run into another member on this lake. Melanie caught a couple of nice dollies as well, prob. 3 to 4 lbs.We didn't attempt fishing at the eastern end , with 2 to 3 ft. waves and chop coming in from all sides we headed to safer waters, always err on the side of caution when playing on the water. It can be quite unforgiving, no fish is worth drowning for. Bob R
