First time on Liberty Lake. Brought 6 and 8 year old daughters on camping trip over weekend. Initially fished in 15 foot of water with lots of hits on fish finder. Fished with worms and caught bunch of small bluegills. Switch to a jig and picked up couple of crappie. Nothing consistent though. Evening came and anchored up in shade over rocky shorelines and threw curly tailed jigs and picked up a good number of crappie up to 8 inches. Kept 15 that evening. Next morning, went out and caught few on curly tailed jigs but more on Gitzits until the sun and bluegills started moving in. Moved to one more spot with last little bit of shade and picked up a bunch more. Dropped kids off in swimming area to cool off and went off to hit few docks. Was getting hot but still managed a nice 3 lb (smaller than the one it was hanging with) on a 7 inch black bungee worm. Definitely a good lake to catch a fair number of medium sized crappie. Bluegills all on the small side.
