Got my first umbrella rig fish, and my first soft plastic swim bait. Only 2.73, but it counts. lol

My big fish was a 2.88 on a Spook, same area, almost same spot.

Another smaller fish on a crankbait, same area. Sounds like a theme to me. Well that's why I went there, caught 2 good fish there the past 2 trips in that small area.

on the 27th i caught a 2.18 smallie.

on the 18th i caught a 1.43 smallie

and the 2 biggest for today.

All 4 in the same small area.

The 'smaller' fish was about 100 yards away today.

So it looks like different fish.

The 2.88 Spook fish was the first fish for today. Then the pounder a hundred yards away, then back thru the small area and got the 2.73.

Its hard to tell from the picture - is that two or three baits on the umbrella? Im not telling my brother about this umbrella technique. He is the kind of fisherman that has to try the latest greatest or biggest or gaudiest or most off the wall gear. If he did this it would have 15 baits - all different! :)

3 hooks, the max allowed in Washington per lure. The whole thing is considered a lure, so 3 hooks. You can have 5 or 10 wires with 3 hooks and the rest only blades for attraction. But then I figure the fish will most likely bite the blades and never get hooked. Altho maybe once in a great while a fish just might choose the plastic swimbait that is on the hook and maybe get hooked. lol I was hoping the 3rd swimbait might show up in the picture, but it didn't, and it's still in the fish. I guess I should have pulled it out a little to be sure it could be seen.
