I hit Riffle lake early in the morning and lunched at taidnapam park around 6:30. I started fishing my two rods at 20 feet. I trolled a wild thing dodger chrome and purple with a pink spinner hoochie on one rod, and rigged a purple Bass Pro XTS minnow on the second rod. I was trolling about 5 minutes and had one on the xts minnow. The fish was about a 10 incher which was returned to the lake, then about 2 minutes later I hit another small fiish on the hoochie. I trolled about 20 minutes and lost a nice one on the xts minnow. That fish jumped about 3 times on me. Since I was not seeing a lot of action, as all fisherman do I thought I should try a different color. I ended up rigging up a green glow hoochie and put a smile blade in front of it as well. I put that set up down and 25 feet, turned around to sit back in my seat, then turned my head and already had a fish on. This time it was a nice about about 15.5 incher, and it was quickly put in the cooler. The green hoochie set up seemed to do the trick. I caught several fish from 25-30ft losing some, but managed to take home 5 nice fish! It was pretty darn windy and choppy on the water but I can't really complain, the action was great and well worth the drive to the lake!
