My friend Paul and son Eric showed up on Wednesday to the Sun lakes resort to try our luck fishing a variety of lakes but as the weather does over in Eastern WA was not cooperating~ wind, rain, thunder, lightning were taking turns making rounds most of the day so we just staying the cabin playing rummekube dreaming of wetting our lines.

Thursday woke up to calm winds, clear skies and now just had to figure out where to fish. We decided to try Park lake since we were already there and they hadn't fished it yet but the pressure change really took the bite off as we managed only 2 trout in about 6 hours of fishing. I said let's head over to Moses lake and give the walleye a shot so we loaded up the Tin cup and changed over to walleye gear and headed to Connelly park to see if we could get some of those tasty bug eyes!

We launched at 2:30 and set up 3 rods with 3 ounce bottom walkers and 3 different set ups to see what they were interested in. It didn't take long for the first rod to go off and it was on a spinner I tied up with a slow death hook, some beads and a green smile blade and of course and lively night crawler! Soon it was evident that that set up was the ticket so changed out the other 2 rods to all slow death hooks with just slightly different things on it like wally pops.

By 5 pm we went 5 for 11 on the walleyes and 2 catfish we released! It was a blast and I really want to fish this fishery some more in the near future! Made some killer fish and chips with chipolte panko bread crumbs bacl at the cabin. Paul and Eric left Friday morning and now had to get ready for our church men's retreat this weekend at Sun Lakes as we have 15 guys showing up with 5 cabins rented for a weekend of fishing and fellowship!

Nice ML eyes. You might want to try a lighter bouncer for Moses as it is shallow and most fish are caught 10ft or less. They feel less resistance on the lighter weight and you feel them better as well resulting in more solid hooksets. Anyway, you are doing great and keep up the great reports.

Thanks everyone! I was wondering about that and actually switched to a 2 ounce weight but thought next time out I would start with 1 1/2
Thanks for the tip!
