Started out at daylight again with the weather being a little overcast and a slight mist. The water was like glass. Caught a few dinks working my way around the shore with a floating rapala. About 8 a/m I cast up against the weed-line with a long pause and a couple twitches, then BAM fish-on! A couple quick pics and back in the water, weighed 3 lbs. 4 oz.
Nothing big after that, ended up with an even dozen bass and 2 trout measuring 14" . The trout hammered the lure and fought hard.

Nice to hear a report on Chain Lake - And, a 3 pounder is indeed a lunker at Chain Lake. Almost like revisiting the place. Haven't fished it since 1992 - just to far to go now. I do have pleasant memories of catching several small largemouth bass on a Rapala 11 S - The biggest only a 13 incher. I also recall catching a sunfish there on the same Rapala.

That's a big one for Chain Lake. I fish it a lot in Summer thru October and you can get a lot of bass in a day there but have only seen two large one's 18" I got and 20" 4lbs a buddy caught. Most of the bass are in the 6"-12" range. Sounds like a good day. I haven't hit the lake this year for bass did hit it for trout in March and got a nice 15" after the stock plant. Rapala's countdown and top water work well there.
