I made my first trip to Meridian today. I started a little later than I normally would and arrived at the lake about 10 AM. I was graphing a ton of fish from 15 to 25 feet and saw a few trout jumping on the surface. I tried spinners, spoons, and bugs anywhere from 15-30 ft with no luck on the kokanee. Unfortunately for me my trolling motor bartteries decided they had enough right from the start, and I was forced to use my big motor. I think trolling speed was probably the reason I didn't have much luck. I think 2.1 MPH is probably a little fast. I did manage to pick up a 10 inch rainbow at 20 ft on a pink spinner. I released himi. I saw one other boat on the water and they looked to be top lining trout with flashers. I saw them land 3 or 4. Even though I didn't catch the target fish it was nice to put the boat on this little lake and go fishing. On the way home I stopped at costco and bought some new batteries. I will have to give it another try!
