Well hit the lake for to try my luck at American. Got there about 1 pm and found a couple paddling or trying to get back to shore they got stuck on the little Island across from the launch. I gave them a tow back in they said they might have some water in the tank but ran good in the drive way. I would imagine no fuel stabilizer in that boat.
Anyway started off with the wind blowing my every way but the way I wanted to go oh joy.... Ran all over the place marked a ton of fish but nothing willing to take what I was offering. After changing gear out again again and again I caught a few rainbows and in the box they went. After six hours I only had three fish all RB. Starting trolling back towards the dock and got one more RB nice size and in the box he went with the others. Just as I get my line reset the other pole goes off and I grab it feels like a koke could it be......took my time tons of head shakes but did not feel heavy grab the net and I shot it right in a nice 11 inch koke my first for American this year after many many days of trying.
I will say this if someone is getting a limit of kokes on American I need some tips form you. I think it will turn on soon but the fish seem small, I had a few drive by's around a dozen or so and that makes me think this fish are small or not real aggressive.
Anyhow good luck guys.. oh I did manage to hit bottom when loading my boat and trashed my prop good. I was pissed but it happens I forgot to put the trailer in deeper for loading.
