My plan was to get to the lake at 5:30am. But I hit snooze a couple of times so I didn't get there until 6:00 and fishing about 6:30am.
I was going to troll for a couple hours and then still fish if I hadn't got my limit.
I put pink lures on both rods and set one down rigger at 15 foot down on the rigger the other at 30. Then I varied them until I got a bite. The fish bite came after I changed the pink out and put on green for one rod and a Dick Nite Spoons 50/50 dodger with a Wannafish A Lure Gilded Lily on the other. At 7:35am on the north east side of the lake I finally got a bite and first kokanee in the boat. I was 23 foot down on the rigger in about 60 foot of water. I circled around a couple times to see if I can pick up another but it was not there.
I then headed over toward the green drift boats. I was just trolling one rod about the same fish catching depth on the downrigger as before and waved at
WidgeonmanGH/Huckleberry Meadows. As I did, I got another kokanee on the same dodger lure set up. I was at the southeast side of the lake, kind of. I trolled back around to see if I could get any more. Nope. So I anchored up by the green drift boats about 8:30 or 9, I think. I watched them get fish until they left with limits. Then I finished off my limit with Wannafish A Lure Still-fishing spinners in pink and orange. I think I finished about 10am.
The water temperature was 60 degrees. When I started it was sunny but about 9am the clouds started coming in as predicted. It was a little breezy. But nice day to be out.
