So had to give this day a 4 due to the great time meeting and seeing everyone again at the potluck! Thanks again to Mike Carey and Aaron plus all the sponsors in helping putting this together as it was a great weekend of fishing and fun!

Got to the state park boat launch around 6:15 and Brian and Alan were just putting in so Brian assisted me in putting the Tin Cup in the lake and soon we were both motoring off to ply the waters of Chelan! For me it was slow as tried different depths and lures and managed to scratch out 2 while Kokanee Kid kept giving me a play by play batter average as they were just tearing it up out there! Soon ran down by monument and was fortunate enough to watch Fish Dawg land a beautiful chinook! So decided to switch gear and target lake trout as I had never caught one before. Had the traditional ace hi-fly but also had a cool looking coyote spoon I had picked up that thought I would try with a chunk of cured herring strip on it. It was a lot of work by myself keeping those down rigger balls just off the bottom but soon I saw a cluster on the bottom that I passed over and actually saw a yellow streak up and wham!

Fish on!! My 1st Laker and it was fun pulling it in on my Tica kokanee rod but soon had it in the net! Ended up getting another one at about 110 so all-in-all felt pretty good at getting a couple on my first effort at the bottom feeders!

Got to the pot luck and had a great time visiting with everyone and a special thanks to rseas and his family for all the work on putting out such a nice fish taco spread and for the other kitchen helpers! Look forward to next years event and learned a lot on this trip- now it's off to Sun Lakes to drop off the Tin cup at my brother-in-laws house in Ephrata for when I come back next weekend again for the annual Sun Lakes fishing derby! Might have to do a little pre-fishing though before I go to his house- report to follow!

See you on the water!

BTY notice the one-eyed kokanee I have there- rumor has it that Kokanee Kid hooked a fish and came up with only an eye ball! Too bad he didn't save it and would could have seen if the slipper ( I mean eye ball) fit!!

Hey Barry, I know that boat in the pic! I think it's mine. Fun to put on a show for you chasing down Bryan's Chinook.
