I went to the public area on the north side of the lake. Fished from the shore for about an hour with no luck. Spotted a largemouth bass sitting almost motionless, took me a second to realize it was a fish. Not having any luck so far, I decided to try different lures. Picked a top water lure, a 2 inch popper. I tossed it about a foot past him and waited for the water to settle. Popped it twice and he went for it. I didn't have a scale with me but he must have been at least 5 lbs. It's not going to break any records but I think it may have been the biggest bass I've ever caught. I was just using a light action trout rod because that's all I had with me. It made my day.
