Took my little 6' livingston out to Riley. It's close.....fishin's fishin.

Paddled around using a wee dick nite.....nothing. Then a KastMaster 50/50.......nothing.

Then a tiny little fly. It's hard to get line out with no weight but boy did they like that one. Basically paddled as fast as I could to get line out (spinning rod 6 lb test mono) and then trolled and they kept hitting it. Top water is the only thing that makes these little farts fun! Haha kindof a kick in the pants when they explode outa the water like that. Got 7-8 fish in about an hour once I figured out what they were after. Little guys though, only like 8".

Tried bass a minute too but none.

Can anyone identify these trout? I got maybe one stocker rainbow but the rest were these. Cutthroat I'm guessing???

All fish C&R

Fun times.

Looks like maybe a smallish coastal cutt, or maybe a cuttbow? Not sure if the trout reproduce on that lake or not.

Hi WDF. I live in this area but haven't fished Riley in years. Riley used to be cuts and kokanee only. I don't know what happened to the silvers. Now I hear it's a mixed bag including rainbow. I know of a much better lake nearby to fish. You from this area or would like someone to fish with, give us a holler ((((((Fish On))))
