Over the last 6 weeks I went scouting for walleye on the North End for walleye with not even a bite on 3 occasions. Yesterday CF and I launched at Connelly Park and headed North. We had lines in the water by 7:00 AM beginning in 7 FOW and worked down to 5 FOW. Water temp was 60. In 2 hours we picked up a small perch and catfish but not a single walleye bite. No other boats in the area did not boost our confidence. Plan B was to head to the South End but we decided to try some deeper water first. As soon as we hit 8-10 FOW the bite was on. Over the next 4 hours we boated 20 Walleye 16-20 inches with only 1 dink. The wind was really blowing at times making boat control difficult and resulting in multiple missed bites. Add in a dozen Smallies(largest 18 inches), a few catfish and a 16 lb carp it made for a action packed trip that was looking like a bust. At 1:00 we used up our last night crawler and headed in. A slow death rig with green/chartreuse beads and a silver smile blade was the clear lure winner. The one question we have is why there were no walleye in the shallow North End, have they all spawned and moved out?

Great report and looking forward to working the waters in a couple weeks! So by the lower end do you mean towards Rocky Ford?
