Decided to take advantage of the amazing weather and recent planting of Brown and Rainbow Trout by WDFW at Lacamas Lake to add another installment to my Cascadia Kayak Angler series on YouTube. I was on the lake by sunrise and had the lake to myself. It didn't take long before a hungry brown trout smashed my rainbow patterned flatfish. I encountered a very aggressive and consistent bite until 10:30 when it largely quieted down. The small flatfish proved most popular but a few fish fell to a small black and brass roostertail. I was doing c&r barbless with no bait. I landed 8 fish, 7 Brown Trout and 1 Rainbow Trout, total and had several other that released at a distance. A lot of folks find Lacamas Lake to be a let down but with a little research beforehand and proper timing I've found the lake consistently produces for me.
