I've fished American Lake several times the last three weeks with modest success each time out. I haven't been skunked and released fish some days. I've been using primarily pop gear and wedding rings in orange and pink tipped with pink maggots or yellow corn. The pink probably outfits any other offerings. I've been fishing two poles with one using 1/2 oz and the other 1 1/2 oz. The 1/2 oz has produced more but from time to time the 1 1/2 will get hot.
Most of the fish I'm catching are 13" +, almost all c & r. Most of my time is spent near the Veteran's hospital and between the Camp Murray campground and the Officer's Club.
I haven't caught one kokanee or seen one in the last two weeks.

The kokes are at 35-40' Bruce. The 2 year olds are running 12-13", and the strike stops when the sun hits the water. Limited yesterday, and 3 the day before.

Thanks smokey. I gave up using the down rigger looking for Kok's several weeks ago. Good to know they're biting, but that means I can't sleep in.
